Worrier to Warrior: Living With Anxiety and Still Showing Up
PageFlyShare
Anxiety is often misunderstood.
It doesn’t always look like panic attacks or shaking hands.
Sometimes it looks like overthinking.
Sometimes it looks like silence.
Sometimes you feel like you're trying, really trying, yet your chest feels heavy.
Many of us were raised with the idea that being "strong" meant being brave, composed, and unconcerned. However, actual life imparts a different lesson.
Fear is frequently a necessary component of strength.
That's the origin of Worrier to Warrior. We understand and relate to the feeling.
Feeling Worried, well, to worry is to care.
Worriers think ahead. We imagine outcomes. We feel deeply. Our minds run fast because we are constantly trying to protect ourselves, and sometimes, the people we love.
However, the world frequently advises those who are anxious to "just relax," "stop overthinking," or "be positive." As though anxiousness is a personal shortcoming rather than a natural human reaction.
Not at all.
Anxiety is the body's attempt to protect you, sometimes loudly, sometimes awkwardly, but always with purpose. I personally believe it's my body clapping and cheering me on to accomplish that goal or task.
Being a Warrior
A warrior is not a fearless person.
A warrior is a person who decides to live despite being afraid when they wake up.
Warriors go to work with anxiety sitting beside them.
They love while afraid of loss.
They try again after disappointment.
They rest when they need to—and stand up again when they can.
Warriors are not loud all the time. Some are quiet. Some cry. Some take breaks. Some move slowly. All of that still counts.
You Can Be Both
You don’t have to choose between being a worrier or a warrior.
You can be anxious and brave.
You can be sensitive and strong.
You can be healing and becoming.
The Worrier to Warrior collection is meant to serve as a reminder of that reality, particularly on days when you're feeling low on energy and have a heavy head. Pretending that anxiety doesn't exist is not the goal. It's about claiming your strength while honoring your experience.
Wear the reminder. Become the Warrior
